12/01/2009 – Bringing Home Gold
Results from today:
100m Butterfly, I took First Place and set a new World Record with a time of 58.29. Second Place went to Sergey Punko of Russia with a time of 58.85 and Third Place went to Albert Gelis Juanola of Spain with a time of 59.69. An hour later, I competed in the 400m Freestyle and took 3rd place with a time of 4:20.27, a new American Record.
Preparing for tomorrow: Wednesday, 02DEC:
I swim in one event tomorrow, the 50m Freestyle and that competition will take place at 18:52. The current world record was set in March 1996, with a time of 26.39. My qualifying time was 26.25, seeded 2nd and will be swimming in lane 5. My best time in this event is 22.48. I am very focused and plan to be in the medals with hopes of setting a new record.
